New Online Videos to Assist Homeowners

August 17, 2009 - WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Homeownership Preservation Foundation (HPF) today launched a series of new interactive educational videos to assist homeowners seeking information on President Obama’s “Making Home Affordable” initiative. The online videos provide information on the various options that are available and will help homeowners determine if they might qualify for a loan refinance or modification under MHA. The videos can be viewed at www.995hope.org.

“Consumers need access to as much information as possible to address their particular mortgage challenges,” stated Colleen Hernandez, president and CEO of HPF. “These videos provide homeowners with valuable tools to get started moving their situation forward. Over the last few years, HPF has helped over 2 million homeowners. We are excited to add these easy-to-access online videos to reach even more.”

The Homeownership Preservation Foundation, which created and operates the Homeowner’s HOPE™ Hotline (888-995-HOPE™), produced the videos in partnership with the Mortgage Workout Center (MWC).  The Mortgage Workout Center was designed by mortgage industry veterans to use the power of the Internet and the accessibility of video to educate consumers about their mortgage options.

“HPF is the industry leader in providing information and assistance to homeowners and connecting them with free counseling.  We are delighted to be working with the organization on this solution,” said Bob Sullivan, CEO of MWC.  “The videos can be viewed on any computer, at home or in a public library or community center, 24 hours a day. Most importantly, we believe this information will give more homeowners hope and confidence as they realize that they have access to free help.”
